Curryflower: SPICEFIEND Curry Breaded Cauliflower

At SPICEFIEND, we have felt the pain and suffering of many cooks having to scroll through pages of inane chatter/life stories (aka "content") and pictures in order to arrive at the recipe they desire.  We are committed to providing a compassionate, scroll-free existence, so here is the recipe.  Of course, please feel free to scroll through our BS Life Story if you wish to waste a small portion of your life:

Breaded cauliflower with curry flavoured spice melange

This surprisingly versatile breading recipe can be used to add breading to a variety of dishes, but one of my favourites is cauliflower.  Serve the curryflower as a side dish with your protein of choice, but you may find the curryflower steals the show....

ingredients

instructions

  1. Chop cauliflower into bite sized pieces, 1 inch maximum
  2. Mix breadcrumbs, parmesan, curry spice melange, garlic salt, and onion salt together, and pour onto a plate or large ziploc bag
  3. Crack eggs and separate yolks from whites.  Beat separated egg yolks in a bowl. You can save the separated egg whites for another dish.  Waste not want not!
  4. Mix cauliflower with beaten egg yolks, coating generously
  5. Take coated cauliflower pieces out of egg yolk mixture and into the breading mixture.  If you are using a ziploc bag, you can load all of the cauliflower into the bag and shake until coated generously.  If using a plate, coat each individual piece generously with breading
  6. Bake for 30-40 minutes at 425°F or until golden brown and cooked through, or fry on a pan with 3 tbsp of cooking oil at medium-low heat for around 10 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through
  7. Serve as a side dish (or a snack!)
